PET RESTORATIONS

"Exceptional Pet Grooming Since 1990"

VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS

Pet Restorations highly recommends that pets be current on all vaccines prior to grooming.  Although strict sanitation procedures are followed in the grooming salon,  Pet Restorations cannot be held responsible for any illness a pet acquires due to expired or never administered vaccines.

Due to puppies being more susceptible to disease, I also highly recommend that their entire series of vaccinations be complete prior to the first groom.  This includes their boosters, bordetella (kennel cough) and rabies.

Bordetella (Kennel Cough) is a highly contagious virus that your dog can pick up ANYWHERE where there have been other dogs.  A park, an obedience class, a vet/kennel/groomer, touching noses with another dog, even your own yard if other dogs have come into contact with it. This virus is not a permanent disease.  Like a human cold it often goes away on its own but if your pet becomes ill from it, medication may be necessary from your vet.

PLEASE NOTE that the vaccine for kennel cough is often an OPTIONAL vaccine that vets do not always give if its not requested.  For the safety of your pets, I recommend having them vaccinated for Bordetella every 6 months.

ONE PET AT A TIME...

Pet Restorations operates unlike most grooming salons that you are used to.  Pets are groomed one at time from start to finish, with your pet being the only one in the salon (instead of many other barking dogs with them).   While this practice benefits all involved, it also results in less appointments being available (approximately four per day).  Please remember to always call a week in advance of your desired appointment date and time (even earlier during the summer & holidays).

In addition, because I groom pets one at a time, and because of space restrictions in my small salon, I cannot allow early drop-offs or late pick-ups.  Please schedule your pets appointment on a day and time that you will be available.  This also means that if you are late for your pets appointment, I will not have time to finish the groom before my next appointment arrives, so your pets groom will have to be re-scheduled for another day.

I know these stipulations seem like an inconvenience, but when you walk into my quiet salon, you will know why I do this.  It creates a unique grooming atmosphere for your pet that is THE BEST as it is calm and less stressful.  This also allows me to provide your pet undivided attention during the entire process resulting in a high quality groom.

Thank you for your understanding & cooperation!

AGGRESSIVE PETS

Because I work alone, I CANNOT NOT accept pets that have exhibited aggressive behaviors or that have been turned away for services from other groomers/vets/kennels etc. due to those same behaviors.  Over 75% of dog and cat bite wounds and scratches become infected.  If this were to happen to me, it would result in a temporary closure of my business and many inconvenienced customers.

Please be honest and notify me if your pet has EVER exhibited any aggressive behaviors at any time such as growling, nipping, biting, scratching etc.  I appreciate your honesty and thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE!

Pet Restorations is a one-woman show.  The owner/operator is also the groomer.  Therefore, it is often difficult to answer the phone while bathing, drying or grooming a pet.  When you call, PLEASE leave a voicemail so that I can get back to you to schedule an appointment.  Call-backs are made in between appointments, or if very busy, at the end of the day.

Thank you for your patience!
